HFCL to expand OFC manufacturing capacity to 33.9 mn fkm, earmarks Rs 470 cr capex

NEW DELHI: Homegrown telecom gear maker HFCL will expand its current capacity of optical fiber manufacturing from 10 million fiber/km per annum to 33.90 million fiber km/per annum by the end of December 2024.

The company has earmarked an estimated capex of nearly Rs 470 crores and will be using debt and internal accruals as the mode of financing, HFCL said in a statement Thursday.

HFCL had earlier planned to expand its OFC manufacturing to 24.94 million fiber km. “This is in continuation to its earlier expansion plans announced for its existing state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Hyderabad, India,” said the company.
