Six telecom companies owe AMC 2.2 crore

Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is yet to recover Rs 2.21 crore in taxes from six telecommunication service providers. The AMC also announced that it will accept Rs 2,000 notes in payments for property or other taxes.

Jainik Vakil, chairman of the AMC revenue committee, said six telecom companies have a huge sum due and notices have been issued to them. He said the AMC will take up a drive to recover dues from all defaulters. The AMC will take measures against defaulting businesses in the hospitality, IT, finance, construction and retail sectors, and will issue final notices for recovery.
