Microsoft executive calls for faster AI regulation: CNN Business

New York: The government needs to work faster to regulate AI, which has more potential for the good of humanity than any other invention preceding it, CNN Business reported, citing Brad Smith, Microsoft president and vice chair.

In a US news channel programme on Sunday, Smith said uses of artificial intelligence (AI) are almost “ubiquitous” in medicine and drug discovery and diagnosing diseases, “in scrambling the resources of, say, the Red Cross or others in a disaster to find those who are most vulnerable where buildings have collapsed.”

AI isn’t as “mysterious” as many think, he said, adding it is getting more powerful.
