Shareholders seek action on Meta’s ‘political entanglement’ in India
A group of Meta shareholders, which includes activist Mari Mennel-Bell, is seeking action from the social media company on allegations of its “political entanglement and content management biases” in India. The shareholders’ resolution will come up for voting at Meta’s annual shareholder and board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 31, according to people in the know of the matter.
Global non-profit advocacy and proxy advisory firm SumOfUs, now known as Eko, is the proponent of Mennel-Bell’s resolution, which was placed before Meta’s board in April.
