73% Indian firms were hit by ransomware attack: Causes, encryption rate and more

The rate of cyberattacks increased in India in 2022, with 73% of organisations reported that they were a victim of ransomware in 2022, which is up from 57% the previous year, according to a new report.

A report by cybersecurity company Sophos said that in 77% of ransomware attacks against surveyed organisations, hackers succeeded in encrypting data. About 44% of victim companies paid the ransom to get their data back – a considerable drop from last year’s rate of 78%.
