Airtel nearly ready with 5G FWA service, also exploring private networks: Airtel Business CTO

NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel is nearly prepared to launch its 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) service in India which will allow the telecom operator to aggressively tap B2B customers, said a top executive of the telco, adding that the company is also exploring a strategy for private networks.

“We are more or less ready. We have done our testing. Very clearly, FWA is one key lever that we will be using to get into the entire B2B customers base and how we provide a solution, and that it actually gives us a benefit,” said Satkeerthi Muralidharan, CTO, Airtel Business, in a panel discussion at ETTelecom World Telecommunications Day 2023 event.
