Jio outpaces Airtel in active user additions in January

Kolkata: Reliance Jio added the highest number of active mobile users among India’s top telcos in January 2023, which, analysts said, was helped by strong gains in Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. They added that this also indicated that the Mukesh Ambani-led telco is acquiring quality customers and is not impacted by SIM consolidation in the sector.

Jio added 3.5 million active users, taking its January active user base to 394 million, latest customer data put out by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) showed.
