Disney star inks deals with top cable TV companies

Disney Star has struck agreements with top Indian cable TV providers Hathway Digital, DEN Networks, and GTPL to ensure the continued inclusion of its entertainment and sports channels in their base bouquets, according to people who are directly involved in the matter.

The deals are a positive outcome for Disney Star, which is seeking to maximise audience reach for the Indian Premier League (IPL) on TV amidst stiff competition from rival Viacom18, which is streaming the IPL for free on the Jio Cinema app.
