5G rollout in India is taking place at a very rapid pace: Telecom secretary

India is witnessing one of the fastest rollouts of 5G in the world with coverage of 570 districts in just six months. Speaking to ET’s Kiran Rathee, telecom secretary K Rajaraman expects a “pervasive” rollout across the country by early next year. Apart from 5G, the government wants to ensure 4G coverage reaches all uncovered villages as well. Edited excerpts:
