Microsoft fixes Windows Snipping tool flaw

Microsoft has rolled out a security update for Windows 10 and Windows 11. As reported by Bleeping Computer, the emergency security update fixes the Acropalypse privacy vulnerability of the Snipping tool. The report adds that the Acropalypse vulnerability is caused by image editors not properly removing the cropped image data.

“For example, if you take a screenshot and crop out sensitive information, such as account numbers, you should have reasonable expectations that this cropped data will be removed when saving the image,” adds the report.
