Google is on a sticky wicket. First, it was reportedly questioned for not taking the lead in launching an AI-powered solution like ChatGPT, and when it did, it was slammed by a group of Googlers for its hurried debut, reports suggested. Amid this ruckus at the company, Prabhakar Raghavan, head of Google Search, has come out with a ‘warning’ about the major pitfalls of AI chatbots.
AI can “hallucinate”
In a recent interview with Germany’s Welt am Sonntag newspaper (via news agency Reuters), Raghavan pointed out the potential dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) in chatbots. He warned of “hallucination” in AI, wherein it can give a convincing but completely made-up answer.
