Budget pegs higher telecom revenues at Rs 89,469 crore for FY24

Union Budget 2023: After having met the 2022-23 communication receipts target by showing notional gain of Rs 30,000 crore by allocating 4G spectrum to BSNL, the department of telecommunications (DoT) has fixed an even higher target of Rs 89,469 crore for FY24. Here also the aim is to meet the target through similar means — non-cash receipts from BSNL for 5G spectrum allotment.
