Telecom reforms bring boost to industry: GSMA chief

NEW DELHI: India’s recent policy reforms in the telecom sector have improved opportunities for the industry, and the government’s ambition to bring in light-touch regulation is the right approach, a top telco group head said.

“It (reforms) has improved possibilities for the industry. Ease of doing business is really important. I believe that the government is doing to keep light-touch regulation that overtime is a right approach,” Mats Granryd, director general of the GSM Association (GSMA) told ETTelecom.
