State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is planning to begin testing a locally developed 4G solution on a live network next month, starting with 50 radio units.
The equipment, developed by the Centre for Development of Telematics along with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has already been tested to handle 10 million calls simultaneously on a static network. After successful testing on the live network, the broader roll-out will commence, a senior company official said on condition of anonymity.
