‘Vodafone Idea paid only 10-30% of licence fee, SUC for December quarter’

New Delhi: Cash-strapped Vodafone Idea (Vi) has paid only around 10-30% of its licence fee and spectrum usage charges (SUC) for the October-December 2022 period, according to government officials aware of the details.

As per details available with ET, Vi is believed to have paid around Rs 80 crore as licence fee and Rs 15 crore as SUC for the quarter. The company’s payments for the previous two quarters averaged around Rs 600-800 crore for licence fee (LF) and about Rs 250 crore for SUC. Telcos typically pay 8% and 3-4% of their adjusted gross revenue (AGR) as licence fee and SUC, respectively.
