Over 6,000 customer accounts of Norton LifeLock cybersecurity company breached
Global cyberattacks increased by 38% in 2022 and the year also saw hackers compromising personal data of customers that use password managers and social media platforms. In the latest development, cybersecurity services provider Norton LifeLock has ‘confirmed’ that it has been hit by a data breach where accounts of more than 6,000 of its customers have been compromised.
TechCrunch reports that data breach may have allowed hackers to access Norton LifeLock customers’ password managers. Gen Digital, the parent company of Norton LifeLock, said in a notice that the data breach happened likely due to a credential stuffing attack.
