Telecom Diary: Will 2023 be a watershed year for BSNL?

Next year could turn out to be a watershed year in the history of BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd). With the launch of 4G services by early next year, the state-run PSU will have an enormous opportunity to regain its lost clout.

Though BSNL is late to the 4G bandwagon as private players launched 4G services in 2016, it could turn out to be a big chance to improve its revenues and profitability which have been dwindling for many years. Along with 4G, BSNL plans to simultaneously go ahead with the launch of 5G services.
