Amazon, Flipkart get notices for sale of acid on their platforms

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Thursday issued notices to e-commerce marketplaces Amazon and Flipkart over the alleged sale of acid on their shopping platforms.

This came after a 17-year-old girl was attacked with acid by two bike-borne men in Delhi’s Dwarka area on Wednesday. She is currently undergoing treatment in Safdarjung Hospital. The Delhi police have arrested three people in the case. The police probe has revealed that the main accused had procured acid through an e-commerce portal.
