Gmail’s new “integrated view” replaces the “original view”
Earlier this year, Google introduced a new integrated view for Gmail, taking cues from Material You and bringing Gmail, Chat, and Meet together. The users were given the option to switch to the new design or stick with the old one, rather known as the “original view,” until now, as Google will now start forcing the new integrated view on users.
The Material You-inspired integrated design has now become the standard experience for Gmail, leaving users with a new user interface. Also, users having Chat enabled can find the three Google apps – Chat, Spaces, and Meet — on the far-left sidebar.
“Starting this month, this user interface will become the standard experience for Gmail, with no option to revert back to the “original view.” With the new UI, users are still able to change their Gmail theme, inbox type, and more through quick settings.” reads the blog post.
