Apple to begin testing 5G support on iPhones in India from next week

Last month, soon after the 5G rollout in India, Apple confirmed that it would update the iPhones to support 5G connectivity in the country by December. While the stable release may come next month, iPhone users in the country will be able to test the 5G network on their handsets as soon as next week, reports The Economic Times.

As per the report, Apple will release a public beta version of iOS 16, enabling 5G support on the iPhones. The update would not be available for everyone as it is a beta build. Users would have to register for the beta software program to experience the 5G network on their iPhones before the update becomes publicly available.

Apple has been working with carriers to bring 5G support to iPhones for a while now. With the release of the upcoming beta build of iOS 16, Apple will bring 5G connectivity to the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14 series, and the iPhone SE (3rd generation).
