WhatsApp was back in service at 2:10 AM PT, two hours after the services went down. Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, acknowledged the outage and said their engineers are working on the issue and will solve it as fast as possible. Meta Spokesperson apologized to everyone for the inconvenience.
