Centre approves 1,202 BSNL towers for Uttarakhand; to benefit districts sharing international border

DEHRADUN: With mobile connectivity and internet services having remained a major concern for Uttarakhand, especially in the hill districts and pockets near the international borders of China and Nepal, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami during his visit to Delhi on Saturday, met Union minister for railways & information technology Ashwini Vaishnaw and raised the issue with him.

Following this, as per a communique from the CM’s office, the Union minister approved 1,202 BSNL towers in Uttarakhand, each of which would cost Rs 1 crore. Besides, Dhami also requested for more trains to strengthen the connectivity within and outside the state.
