CBI seeks urgent hearing in plea against trial court order in 2G scam

The CBI on Thursday sought an urgent hearing of the appeal filed against the trial court judgment in the 2G scam case following which the Delhi High Court posted the matter for hearing before the Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma-headed bench on Friday.

The agency, which filed the appeal along with Enforcement Directorate on March 18, on Wednesday sought urgent hearing of the appeal in all 2G cases against acquittal of former Telecom Minister A Raja and many Corporates including Anil Ambani headed Reliance Group, Unitech and Essar Group.

ASG Sanjay Jain sought immediate hearing of the appeal of CBI’s appeals, citing that the appeal filed more than four years ago is still at the stage for granting leave for appeal. Justice Asha Menon,
