Chromebook users, government has a ‘warning’ for you

Chromebooks are simple and functional laptops, especially for those who need a device for day-to-day stuff like word processing, browsing, viewing multimedia content, etc. These laptops run ChromeOS and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) has issued a warning for select ChromeOS users.
CERT has confirmed that the new vulnerabilities are found in the Google Chrome OS LTS channel version prior to 96.0.4664.214 (Platform Version: 14268.89.0). Also, the government body has classified these vulnerabilities as ‘High’.
CERT has noted that, “Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Google Chrome which could be exploited by an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial-of-service condition on the targeted system.”
