India head of SpaceX’s Starlink eyes pacts with others in space
Tech billionaire and SpaceX founder Elon Musk believes satellite and mobile broadband operators “must collaborate and not compete with one another” to ensure 100% broadband coverage in India and improve the quality of peoples’ lives, Sanjay Bhargava, the newly appointed India head of SpaceX’s Starlink operation, said.
In his first exclusive interaction with media, Bhargava told ET that his immediate mandate, following an hour-long meeting with Musk, is to engage with CEOs of India’s top telcos, banks, hospitals, academic institutions and non-governmental organisations (NGO) to ink potential collaboration pacts to boost rural broadband connectivity.
