Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp partially reconnect after 6-hour global outage
NEW DELHI: Facebook and Instagram users reportedly could access the social-media platforms partially nearly six hours after those, along with WhatsApp, went down late on Monday night as a suspected global outage and technical failure disrupted their services.
The platforms, owned by American internet giant Facebook, experienced outages around 9 pm (India time) and millions of users complained that fresh messages were not being loaded, and user feed disrupted.
When contacted, a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
