Govt to attract more players to telecom sector; aiming to ensure healthy competition amid 5G preparations: Ashwani Vaishnaw

NEW DELHI: India’s IT & Telecom minister Ashwani Vaishnaw Wednesday said that the government wants to attract more players to the Indian telecom sector especially after 5G spectrum auction with the help of structural reforms and the relief package.

He said that “healthy competition” is must for the telecom sector as it will offer more options to Indian consumers. “…competition is extremely important for telecom industry to offer choice to customers. This right has to be protected. The reforms are to ensure healthy competition and attract new players.”
