This WhatsApp bug just ended up severely troubling users; were you affected?

Some WhatsApp users on Android devices were surprised when they were logged out of their account for no reason at all yesterday. In fact, there were some who actually got a message that said, “Your phone number is no longer registered with WhatsApp on this phone. This might be because you registered it on another phone. If you didn’t do this, verify your phone number to log back into your account.”

Considering that there are so many reports indicating how malware and fraudsters are stealing identities of people or otherwise launching attacks on WhatsApp users, this would no doubt have been quite disconcerting.
