IT minister Chandrasekhar meets electronics manufacturers
New Delhi: Top executives from the electronics manufacturing industry have met with the new Electronics & IT minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar and shared the vision of making India a global manufacturing hub by achieving a production output worth $400 billion by 2025.
Chandrasekhar, who joined PM Narendra Modi’s cabinet this month as the union minister of State for Electronics and IT, discussed ways to make India a globally competitive manufacturing power, he said in a tweet on Saturday.
“Being a technocrat himself, the minister shares the vision of the industry to promote local manufacturing of electronics goods by overcoming our disabilities vis-a-vis other countries and enhance India’ participation in the global value chain,” a person aware of the discussions said.
