MOSCOW: Russia’s largest mobile operator MTS on Monday said it had closed a deal to acquire a data centre near Moscow for 5.2 billion roubles ($70.71 million), days after buying a 100% stake in telecoms company MTT.
MTS is one of several Russian companies developing services beyond its core business, including media, cloud and online streaming. MTS on Monday said the data centre would be used in part to develop its cloud offering.
