Koo app submits its first compliance report under India IT rules

New Delhi: Koo app, the homegrown rival to Twitter Inc., has filed its first compliance report, as required by India’s revised IT rules.

In the month of June, 5,502 posts—or “koos”—were reported by the community, of which 22.7% was removed, according to the report. The microblogging platform took steps to proactively moderate 54,235 koos, the report stated, of which 2.2% were removed. Other actions—such as overlay, blur, ignore, warn, etc.—were taken on the rest of the Koos “that do not comply with Government of India guidelines”.
