Google to provide additional Rs 109 crore Covid grant to India

NEW DELHI: Broadening its Covid-19 support in India, Google’s philanthropic arm Google.org on Thursday committed to provide an additional $15 million or Rs 109 crore to expand the reach of public health information campaigns and support emergency relief work in the country.

Through the fund, the company intends to support procurement and installation of approximately 80 oxygen generation plants in healthcare facilities in high-need and rural locations.

Announcing the initiative on Twitter, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that Google will continue to look for ways to help the people.

“Our hearts go out to those in India impacted by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, and we continue to look for ways to help.
