Telcos back Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things for 5G in India

NEW DELHI: Telecom service providers such as Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea are looking at Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) to back fifth generation or 5G-technology-centric field trials for India-specific use cases following the allocation of trial spectrum.

Delhi-based telecom group feels that technologies such as IoT, AI, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) can be potentially used in making 5G-centric locally-relevant services available across multiple sectors such as healthcare, education and agriculture.
