5G iPhone 12 series helps Apple gain top spot in global smartphone market in Q4: Canalys

NEW DELHI: Cupertino-based Apple dominated the global smartphone market in Q4, riding on the wave of demand for the 5G iPhone 12 series, strong carrier promotions, and the longevity of the iPhone 11 series, market analysts said.

According to Canalys, Apple shipped its highest number of iPhone units in Q4 2020 at 81.8 million units, up 4% against the previous year. While Counterpoint said Apple shipped 81.9 million units in Q4, rising 13% on-year.
