Nokia, Mobily successfully pilot 4G and 5G FWA network slicing

NEW DELHI: Finnish telecom gear maker Nokia on Wednesday said it has successfully piloted 4G and 5G fixed-wireless access (FWA) network slicing in collaboration with Saudi Arabian telco Mobily.

The pilot test included sliced access, transport, and core networks with management and assurance capabilities.

Mobily said the network slicing solution will enable it to offer new FWA services to its customers as well as to enterprises. It also enables slicing per application including voice, data, online gaming, or home office applications.
