MediaTek launches Dimensity 800U 5G chipset for mid-tier smartphones

NEW DELHI: Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company MediaTek Wednesday launched the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset based on a 7nm fabrication process for mid-tier 5G smartphones.

MediaTek, which is globally the fourth largest fabless semiconductor maker, during the India Mobile Congress 2020, said it will collaborate with smartphone brands to launch Dimensity 800U powered smartphones in India

The first such smartphones will be launched in the Indian smartphone maker in January 2021 and will be one of the first MediaTek 5G powered smartphones available in India, it said.
