Samsung unveils Exynos 1080 SoC, confirmed to power upcoming Vivo phone
South Korean tech giant Samsung has unveiled a new processor, Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC, that is said to power upcoming high-end smartphones from the company.
The chipset is an octa-core CPU that is based on Samsung’s own 5nm EUV manufacturing process. It comes with one 2.8Ghz Cortex-A78 core, three 2.6Hz Cortex-A76 cores and four 2Ghz Cortex-A55 cores.
According to Samsung, the newly launched Exynos 1080 chipset exhibits a 50% increase in single-core performance and a 100% improvement when it comes to multi-core performance as compared to the Exynos 990.
