Reliance Jio partnership helps Netflix gain momentum in India: Report

NEW DELHI: OTT-player Netflix’s partnership with India’s leading telecom operator Reliance Jio seems to be culminating into meaningful gains in regions like Asia and India even as its growth is slowing down in other regions, TechRadar reported.

In September this year, the online streaming service had partnered with Jio to launch a free mobile-only subscription plan for postpaid subscribers, starting at Rs 399 per month.

ETTelecom had reported that Jio launched new JioFiber broadband tariff plans and will provide a no-condition 30-day free trial of 150 Mbps internet, 4K Set Top Box with a subscription to 12 OTT streaming apps, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, among others to all new users.

The subscribers are offered an option to upgrade to traditional plans and Netflix subscription comes hard-bundled with Jio’s broadband service as well.
