AMD to acquire Xilinx for $35 billion

NEW DELHI: American chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) on Tuesday announced a $35 billion deal to acquire technology company Xilinx as it seeks to bolster its position as the industry’s high-performance computing leader.
The transaction is expected to be immediately accretive to AMD margins, EPS, and free cash flow generation and deliver industry-leading growth, AMD said.
