What you will pay for iPhone 12, 12 Pro in these countries

Apple’s iPhone 12 series has been quite the talk of tech town since their launch just over 10 days back. The one thing — a perennial talking point with iPhones — which is unsurprisingly on most people’s minds is the pricing. The iPhone 12 Pro range, at least in India, starts at Rs 1.19 lakh whereas the iPhone 12 (not the mini) is close to Rs 80,000. Apple has to pay customs and taxes in India which does make the iPhone expensive than most other countries. Buying an iPhone from other countries — if possible — has always been a cheaper option.
To put the simple conversion rule and you will see that the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are perhaps the most expensive in India when compared to most other popular smartphone markets. For instance, the iPhone 12 (128GB variant) in the US starts at $879. If you add taxes then it will cost close $940, which converted to Indian rupee would be roughly Rs 70,000. The iPhone 12 in India starts at Rs 79,900 for the 64GB variant. The 128GB variant costs Rs 84,900.
The same goes for countries like China, Japan, UK, Russia — where the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are cheaper than what they cost in India.
