Web channel gets court injunction

The Civil Judge (Senior Division) Court, Bhubaneswar has put an injunction against a private web channel asking it not to publish and post defamatory statements or news against the DAV Chandrasekharpur School and its Principal.

In its order, the court has also asked the news editor of the channel and functionaries of a parents’ association to appear before it on August 8, 2020 and submit replies.

Earlier, DAV School Principal KC Sathpathy had filed a petition before the court alleging that the web channel had published a defamatory statement against the school and him on July 27, 2020 and thereafter members of the parents’ association distributed the published item. The Principal also sought action against the web channel and members of the association.
