Microsoft Surface Duo to receive three years of Android update
If there’s one thing where Android OEMs clearly fall short against the iOS and entire Apple ecosystem then it is software updates. Although OEMs like Samsung and OnePlus are trying their best to push at least two years of Android updates but many still lag behind Apple. Microsoft with its upcoming Surface Duo smartphone is pushing the limit to three years. Microsoft confirmed this to Android Authority that its upcoming foldable will support Android updates and security patches for three years.
Well, this seems to be a big commitment considering it to be Microsoft’s first Android device in the market. Also, for the price buyers will at least expect to see this kind of support in the long run. This kind of commitment also brings Microsoft in-line with top Android OEMs such as Samsung Galaxy S and Note series smartphones, Pixel phones and OnePlus.
