Apple may face one of its biggest Android rival in Microsoft’s new phone
Microsoft’s first Android smartphone is here –Surface Duo. And from the looks of it, the dual-screen Android smartphone looks like a formidable rival to Apple iPhone. Announced almost a year back (October 2019), the buzz about Microsoft Surface Duo has been floating almost since then. The smartphone has now gone on pre-orders in the US. Sales will start from September 10.
The phone sports two 5.6-inch, 1800 x 1350, 60Hz OLED panels joined by a hinge that the company claims has been in the works for years. These two displays can come together to form a larger display. When open, it features 8.1-inch Dual PixelSense Fusion AMOLED displays with 2700×1800 pixels resolution and 401 PPI. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The 360-degree hinge allows the phone to lay flat on a table, unfolded.
The base 6GB+128GB variant of the dual-screen Android phone has been priced at $1,399 (about Rs 1,04,656). There is a higher, 6GB+256GB variant of the smartphone also. There is only one colour the device comes in: Glacier.
