China’s Honor to foray into laptop space with MagicBook 15; to launch sub Rs10K smartphones

NEW DELHI: Competition in the laptops space is set to heat up with another Chinese handset brand, Honor, planning its foray into the market to take on the likes of HP, Dell, and Lenovo.

Honor, which is Huawei’s sub-brand, will also re-enter sub-Rs 10,000 smartphone segment with two new phones seeing the demand for cheaper devices in the market.

“Due to the pandemic, there is a huge demand for laptops. In China, the situation is better than other countries but the demand hasn’t slowed down for laptops are people want to stay safe and continue to work from home, while children opt for e-learning. We see a similar trend in India,” Charles Peng, President, Huawei & Honor India Consumer Business Group told ET.
