Gadkari asks Amazon to handhold Indian MSMEs on its platform

NEW DELHI: Union Minister for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) Nitin Gadkari has asked e-commerce player Amazon to handhold small businesses on its platform and guide them on marketing their products and global consumer preferences, a move that will help increase Amazon’s turnover as well as promote small businesses in the country.

“I need your cooperation. Particularly the rural, agricultural, tribal areas, 115 aspirational districts, we need to take them into the mainstream of our economy,” Gadkari said at the launch of Amazon India Exports Digest 2020 on Monday.

“Only I will request you, (to see) if it is possible to find a solution for small industries– micro and small and medium–. With your international exposure, if you can plan product designing, giving new vision to all entrepreneurs, choices of global consumers, what they prefer,” Gakdari said. “ It will be a huge win-win situation for both.”
