Reliance Jio a ‘clean telco’, ensuring its network isn’t contaminated: Mathew Oommen
NEW DELHI: Mathew Oommen, Reliance Jio President, said that the telecom operator is addressing network security-related issues to ensure that its network isn’t “contaminated” and there is no “digital pandemic” which can infest the digital infrastructure.
He also termed Jio a ‘clean telco’ seconding US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s recent comments on ‘clean telcos’ globally that don’t use any equipment from Chinese vendors like Huawei.
“End-to-end network including 5G, AI, cloud, IoT, SoC, devices, and applications…all these things together should be looked from a security perspective. India brings scale. We have 4 million radio heads. the scale brings innovation and security is embedded in the end to end portfolio,” Mathews said during a webinar organised by the U.S.-India Business Council.
