Leading US lawmakers chide Donald Trumps’s H-1B order
New Delhi: Leading American lawmakers including those from the Republican Party have criticised President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a temporary suspension of H-1B and other non-immigrant visas that will adversely impact Indian professionals seeking to enter the US.
In a series of tweets Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said the move will have a “chilling effect” on the nation’s economic recovery amid the coronavirus pandemic. Similar concerns were expressed by Senator Dick Durbin and Congressmen Raja Krishnamoorthi, Bill Pascrell and Ro Khanna as well as Congresswoman Donna Shalala.
