Google Currents to replace Google+ for G Suite users on July 6: Report
Internet search giant Google has reportedly sent out an email to G Suite administrators informing them that Google Currents, a rebranded version of Google+ will become available for them on July 6.
The email also says that Google+ users will be transitioned to the new portal that offers an updated look and feel and additional features. As per the 9to5Google report, the Google Currents tool has been in beta since the past several months and will be moved eventually automatically.
“At the launch next month, all Google+ users and content will be automatically transitioned to Currents with full availability taking five days,” said the report.
As for the existing plus.google.com links, they will continue to work and redirect to currents.google.com URLs. Further, an update to Google+ for Android and iOS is expected to come with the new Currents branding soon.
