Vivo may launch smartphone with massive gimbal-like camera
Vivo seems to be planning a big change on camera front in one of its upcoming smartphones. The company has posted a teaser video of Vivo X50 smartphone showing gimbal-like image stability feature. The video shows camera housing of Vivo X50 smartphone, which includes a dedicated periscope telephoto lens, two usual lenses and a giant camera module which presumably is the much-speculated gimbal-lens.
Vivo showcased its Apex 2020 concept smartphone in February this year. The smartphone sports in-display selfie camera, 60W fast wireless charging support and the main camera sensor with improved image stabilisation that claimed to offer around 200% more stabilisation compared to the usual OIS technology currently being used in the smartphones. Now reports claim that X50 may be the same phone.
Some reports suggest that the smartphone will feature the recently-announced Samsung ISOCELL GN1 50MP sensor which has Tetracell technology that doubles the pixel size to 2.4μm for improved low-light photography. The same can be seen in another teaser video posted on Weibo that highlights the low-light camera capabilities of the smartphone.
