Microsoft cancels its biggest event of the year
NEW DELHI: Recently Google and Facebook cancelled their annual developer conference and now another big event has been cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak. Microsoft has cancelled its annual conference — Microsoft Build as it will be an online-only event. The company has scheduled the Microsoft Build from May 19 to May 21 but has now called off the event due to the growing concerns over the outbreak of coronavirus.
As reported by The Verge, in an official statement the company said, “The safety of our community is a top priority. In light of the health safety recommendations for Washington State, we will deliver our annual Microsoft Build event for developers as a digital event, in lieu of an in-person event,” the company said in a statement to The Verge. “We look forward to bringing together our ecosystem of developers in this new virtual format to learn, connect and code together. Stay tuned for more details to come.”
Despite the announcement of the cancellation of the event, Microsoft has not yet updated the Build homepage which is still allowing users to buy tickets. Just like Google, Microsoft will also refund the ticket money to the users.
